Shoreditch engagement shoot

A london pre wedding shoot

Oh this engagement shoot was so much fun. I bloody love getting to photograph in London, there’s always so much going on. As someone who’s parents hated crowds, I never actually visited London till my 18th birthday. Since then I’ve been lucky enough to visit it often, for shoots like this one on the blog today.
Marianne and Tom both live and work in London and met at their local pub and fell in love over their shared love of northern soul. So it seemed like a nice place to have the pre wedding shoot, especially since they we’re getting married back at home, in a little Yorkshire village – you can see their wedding here. The inner city made a nice contrast to their green countryside bridal portraits. Giving them the best of both worlds when it came to pictures.
We decided to start at the pub where they first met, unfortunately though it was closed and there had been a market outside it. The whole street was covered in rubbish and empty rails, but we still managed to get one snap of them there cutting out most the mess.
We then carried on towards Shoreditch looking for some fun backdrops. Lots of leafy shop fronts, cool graffiti and THE BEST donuts. Because I mean all shoots should include donuts, right?!
I absolutely adore London’s street art and how frequently it changes. Even as the shoot was going on there was a new Stormzy piece being painted. I love that every time I photograph in London it always looks different and there are always new backdrops to be found, its make it more fun.

We spent a good hour or so exploring and shooting, chatting about their big day and all their plans for it. Then headed to the pub for a well earned G&T.
