Yesterday I was lucky enough to be a part of Sarah and Roberts beautiful wedding day. It was a day filled with lots of great food, close family, and some pretty wild dancing. After some bumps in the road due to the dreaded C word, they chose the spectacular Riding School at Calke abbey for their wedding day and what a brilliant choice it was. It was my first time shooting at The Riding School and I am absolutely blown away by the grandeur and beauty of it.

Sarah chose to get ready in Thatch cottage on the grounds of Calke Abbey. When I arrived, Sarah was having a quiet moment in the garden of the cottage before the craziness began. I had such a fun morning with Sarah, her bridesmaids and close family. There was constant laughter heard around the cottage. A real favourite moment was Sarah getting happy tears when the lovely Breige arrived with her incredible bouquet.

Soon enough it was time to head over to The Riding School. Sarah and Robert had a lovely short and personal ceremony, you could clearly see how over the moon they both were to be finally getting married to one another.

 

After the ceremony we were treated to a VIP golf buggy ride to the Calke Abbey gardens. I felt completely spoilt for choice as to where to take the newlyweds for their couple portraits. We had a wander through the gardens, greenhouse, orangery, and potting sheds before heading to Calke abbey itself. As we headed down towards Calke Abbey tons of butterflies surrounded my couple and flew past them, it was such a special moment.

We then got driven back up to The Riding School for speeches and the meal. I was lucky enough to be treated to a three-course meal by Sarah and Robert, they’re caterers Black pepermint were absolutely incredible.
As the sun was setting Sarah asked if we could venture out for some pictures in the dreamy light, which I was, of course, delighted by. I then left the pair to have a moment alone together, while I headed back in to capture some insane dance moves going on.
I couldn’t of asked for a better day. Days like this really do make me realise how lucky I am to have such a brilliant job.
