TODMORDEN TOWN HALL WEDDING

A DIY Northern Soul inspired wedding with two creative souls.
Some couples I absolutely just click with from the get go and these two were definitely that. From the moment I got their enquiry though, I knew this was going to be an awesome wedding. Rather than paper invites Maz & Tom who – are both designers – decided to create an incredibly designed website to send out inviting all their guests. I mean how cool is that?! And such a eco friendly alternative, saving all that paper.
The couple both currently live in London, so we decided to have their engagement shoot there – check that out here. But decided to get married up north in Yorkshire where Maz is from. She hired a little airbnb close to the venue to get ready at I would massively recommend this to any of my couples, who want create ‘getting ready’ pictures. It was perfect, pale walls and full of light and space, making it so easy for me to capture her bridal prep and details. Her flowers were all sourced and put together herself with help from her bridesmaids. She chose dried flowers so they would last forever and created flower hoops rather than bouquets to make it easier bridesmaids to carry. Maz chose to wear a gorgeous Willow by Watters dress, with a long flowing skirt and delicate floral details.
At the venue, Tom had made mini records for everyones place settings and pressed flowers in perspex for their table numbers. They decorated the whole venue themselves with flowers and coloured perspex shapes. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous with huge windows, ornate ceiling and 70s look. Tying in their love for northern soul perfectly. Along with a night of the most epic dancing and a first dance with a double backdrop!
This was a DIY wedding done at its absolute finest. Have a scroll as its jam packed with inspo and personality.
