A gorgeous Lake district elopement

The lovely Tom and Bea got in touch with me over two years ago at the very start of their elopement planning and I’m so glad they did, as it has been so lovely to help them create this day. I always get so excited whenever I get elopement enquires as there is just something so special about them and every one is so unique. And in the Lake district! I knew it was going to be the most beautiful day.

The week before their elopement I headed up to the Lake district and with the help of my incredible second shooter Jo Greenfield, we scouted out some pretty incredible locations.

Getting ready

Tom and Bea chose to get ready together in a little cottage fittingly called The Grooms cottage nestled in the north of the Lake District. I always love it when couples get ready together before eloping. Bea chose to wear the most beautiful, floating Willow by Watters dress which she bought from one of my favourite dress shops Along Came Eve Bridal and Tom looked super suave in his Moss Bros suit. The flowers and flower crown were made by the insanely talented Folky Dokey, they fit with the Lake District backdrops perfectly.

Something blue

From the cottage we drove to Winlatter forest for some pictures among the trees, with Buttermere in the distance. From there we drove a loop to get to the incredible secret waterfall. Tom and Bea had brought along a blue wine as their ‘something blue’, so we shook it up and they did a brilliant prosecco spray before enjoying a glass on the hillside. On the walk back, Jo & I stepped away to give the pair a chance for a moment of privacy to read their vows to each other, in an incredibly intimate moment.

 The ceremony

We then left the Lake District and headed up to Greta green for the couple to make their marriage official. They chose the famous Blacksmiths for their wedding ceremony, with just me and Jo as their witnesses. It was a lovely short ceremony, finished with a bang of the Anvil to announce them as husband and wife.

Tom and Bea here are your previews, I hope you adore them.
