Thinking of eloping?

Elopements are becoming more popular and I’m so so glad! Each and every elopement I get to photograph is truly special to me. They really are a day like no other. However, I still frequently get asked ‘what is an elopement?’. The definition of elopement was to run away in secret and get married, usually without parental consent, but in modern terms it’s so much more than that. To me, an elopement is a wedding of less than 30 people (also commonly known as a micro wedding), in which couples throw traditions out the window and have an intimate celebration with their nearest and dearest, or sometimes just the two of them. If this isn’t for you and you fancy throwing a huge, crazy celebration, head over to my weddings page.

From the moment you book, I’m on hand to help with any questions or advice. Planning an elopement is like planning an adventure, you don’t have to worry about entertaining lots of guests, so instead you can do whatever the hell you like. Lots of my couples choose to elope in Scotland because wedding laws here mean you can get married anywhere you like! Castle, beach, mountains – the options are endless. If you want to hear more about me and my approach, you’ll find it here.

If you’re ready to get planning the elopement of your dreams, scroll through the below for a selection of the gorgeous elopements I’ve had the honour of shooting, plus advice on elopement planning and locations. Or, if you’ve seen and heard enough, let’s chat.

We instantly fell in love with Lauren’s photography when we found her on Instagram so couldn’t wait to book her for our elopement! Her communication before the day was excellent and she listened to all our ideas and was able to create a plan to incorporate all of the locations we wanted and more so the day was seamless. The day was so amazing and Lauren instantly made us feel comfortable, it was like having a friend with us! She gave us loads of direction which was so helpful and we were blown away when we got the photos back! When we showed friends and family they all commented straight away that she is an excellent photographer. Honestly can’t recommend Lauren enough, she is just amazing at what she does and we are so happy we asked her to share our day with us
